Over 13 crore precaution doses have been given to those who are more than 18 years old
India's Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 210.02 crore doses (2,10,02,40,361). This has been accomplished in 2,79,49,087 sessions, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare based on preliminary data as of 7 am on Monday.
Covid-19 immunisation for children aged 12 to 14 years old began on March 16, 2022, and more than 3.99 crore (3,99,77,431) adoloscents have received the Covid-19 vaccine's first dose so far.
Administration of a precautionary dose of vaccine began for frontline workers and vulnerable people above the age of 60 years from January 10 this year. This was followed by opening up Covid-19 precaution dose administration for age groups 18 to 59 years began on April 10. It is noteworthy that over 13 crore precaution doses (13,82,60,224) have been administered so far.
According to the latest data, the number of active cases in India is currently 97,648. This translates to 0.22% of the total positive cases recorded in India since the beginning of the pandemic.
The data also added that India now has a recovery rate of 98.59%. Over thevpast 24 hours, 11,726 people have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered patients in the country to 4,37,23,944.
According to data for the last 24 hours, 9,531 new cases have been recorded and while 2,29,546 Covid-19 tests have been performed.
The health ministry added that India has carried out a total of 88.27 crores (88,27,25,509) tests to date. The country's Weekly Positivity Rate is now 3.59%, while the Daily Positivity Rate is reported at 4.15%.
