India is also amongst the top most countries that have provided the maximum amount of help in Sri Lanka's hour of need.
Sri Lanka is going through a deep economic crisis since the beginning of 2022. The United Nations warned that millions of people in the island nation “require immediate humanitarian assistance.”
To help the beleaguered nation in its crisis, India has sent more than 25 tons of drugs and medical supplies which were donated by the government and people of India. This was done in the last two months and the worth of these supplies is approximately 370 million Sri Lanka Rupees (SLR).
Apart from economic assistance of around USD 3.8 billion, supply of other humanitarian aids such as rice, milk powder and kerosene -- were extended by India. India is also donating basic products to the island nation.
