MoS External Affairs V Muraleedharan was on a two-day visit to Oman
Inviting investors from Oman, Minister of State (MoS) External Affairs V Muraleedharan has said that India offers huge opportunities in the infrastructure and energy sectors.
In a meeting with Oman Investment Authority Executive President Abdulsalam Al Murshidi on Tuesday, he also highlighted the policy initiatives that have been taken to spur India's growth.
"Visited Oman Investment Authority & met Executive President, H.E. Abdulsalam Al Murshidi. Apprised him of huge investment opportunities in infrastructure & energy sectors in India.
Highlighted the policy initiatives being taken in India to spur growth," MoS Muraleedharan said on Twitter.
During his two-day visit on Monday and Tuesday, he also witnessed the signing of an MoU between the Central Bank of Oman and the National Payments Corporation of India to launch the Rupay debit card in Oman.
"Happy to meet with H.E. Tahir Al Amri, Executive President, Central Bank of Oman & witness signing of the historic MOU between CBO and NPCI to launch the Rupay debit card in Oman, paving the way for a new era of financial connectivity. A new milestone in the bilateral relations," he later tweeted.
The MoS External Affairs had earlier met his counterpart, Oman's Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi and held discussions on a wide range of regional and international issues.
"Had a warm and productive meeting with FM @badralbusaidi, reviewing entire gamut of bilateral relations. Also exchanged perspectives on a wide range of regional and international issues," MoS Muraleedharan said on Twitter.
This was MoS Muraleedharan's second visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The visit will provide an opportunity to comprehensively review the state of bilateral relations between India and Oman and to chart pathways to further deepen and strengthen it, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had said last week.
