The visit aims to review bilateral ties and to map out methods to further improve and deepen them
Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs V Muraleedharan will make an official trip to the Sultanate of Oman from October 3 to October 4.
This will be his second trip to the Sultanate and is a part of a regular exchange of high-level visits to reaffirm the two countries' shared commitment to their ongoing growing partnership, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Saturday.
MoS Muraleedharan will meet Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi and other senior dignitaries during the visit. During the meetings, he will discuss bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest.
He will also take part in a community reception and and interact with a wide cross-section of the Indian community in Oman, particularly those in health, education, business, and social service sectors.
"There has been sustained and frequent exchange of high level visits between both countries," the MEA said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Oman in 2018, followed by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's visit in 2019. MoS Muraleedharan himself visited Oman in December 2020.
Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi visited India in March 2022, while Oman's Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef came on a visit in May 2022.
India and Oman share warm and friendly relations underpinned by historical and cultural linkages and strong people-to-people ties. The visit will provide an opportunity to comprehensively review the state of bilateral relations between India and Oman and to chart pathways to further deepen and strengthen it, the MEA noted.
