Vietnam is a crucial ally in India's Act East strategy and Indo-Pacific outlook
Ex VINBAX 2022, the third edition of the Vietnam-India Bilateral Army Exercise, is slated to take place in Chandimandir, Panchkula from August 1 to August 20, 2022.
Since defence cooperation is a crucial component of India and Vietnam's Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Ex VINBAX-2022 is focused on the theme of "employment and deployment of an engineering company and a medical team as a part of the United Nations Contingent for Peace Keeping Operations."
India has a long history of sending troops to UN missions, and it possesses some of the strongest resources for teaching potential UN peacekeepers about UN peace operations, including best practices and practical training at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels.
Due to this, Ex VINBAX-2022 will be conducted as a field training exercise with a wider scope than earlier iterations of the bilateral exercise, which will increase trust and interoperability and allow the Indian Army and Vietnam People's Army to share best practices.
Furthermore, this collaborative exercise will provide the troops from both contingents the chance to discover more about one another's social and cultural heritage. The 105 Engineer Regiment is representing the Indian Army.
The plan includes a 48-hour Validation Exercise to evaluate the standards attained by both contingents while carrying out technical military operations in accordance with scenarios common to UN deployments.
India's ability to carry out rescue and relief operations during natural and man-made catastrophes using indigenous solutions will be demonstrated, along with equipment on exhibit.
The exercise is a follow-up to a previous bilateral exercise that was held in Vietnam in 2019 and marks a significant development in the improvement of bilateral ties between India and Vietnam as Vietnam is a crucial ally in India's Act East strategy and Indo-Pacific outlook.
