Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday emphasized on proactive operations against terrorists and denying them safe haven or financial support.
While reviewing security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, he appreciated the improvement in the security situation, reduction in terror incidents from 417 in 2018 to 229 in 2021 and decrease in number of security forces personnel martyred from 91 in 2018 to 42 in 2021.
He also directed the security forces and police to ensure real time coordination for effective counter-terrorism operations and monitoring activities of terrorists from jails.
The Home Minister ordered further strengthening of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Jammu and Kashmir to choke narco terrorism.

Earlier, while attending the CRPF Raising Day in Jammu on Saturday, the Home Minister said more than 30,000 people's representatives have become part of the democratic process and Panchs and Sarpanchs in villages are moving their villages on the path of development.
He expressed his happiness that all across the country, including Jammu and Kashmir, Tehsil Panchayats, District Panchayats have been formed, and the Centre has found huge success in bringing democracy to the ground level.
He said following the removal of Article 370, dalits, backward classes, women and hill people in Jammu and Kashmir have begun to realize the fruits of all-inclusive developments.
The Home Minister industrial development has also begun and the Jammu and Kashmir administration has been successful in receiving investment on the ground of more than Rs. 33,000 crore.
Work is progressing rapidly to complete all the aspects of the Prime Minister's package and to provide water and electricity to every household, to create an effective system to tackle COVID-19, to build toilets in every household, to deliver Ayushman Bharat cards to every household, J&K has achieved complete success in all these schemes.
Records have been broken in road construction, as work in this area has been done at the fastest pace since Independence in the past 5 years, he said,
Seven new medical colleges have been built, two AIIMS have been built, 21 hydroelectric schemes have been started. The Jammu and Kashmir government has achieved big success in bringing in transparency in every field, the Home Minister maintained.
For the first time after independence, he said, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has brought about a transformation by launching a massive campaign against corruption in two ways; by giving advice to corrupt people and by devising ways to end corruption in administration.
