More than 19.52 crore balance and unutilized vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs

Over 151.70 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories (UTs) so far through the Government of India free of cost channel and through direct state procurement category.

The figure stood at 1,51,70,64,205 as on Saturday, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to figures released by the health ministry, more than 19.52 crore (19,52,96,356) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.

As part of the univerzalisation of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the Union Government is procuring and supplying, free of cost, 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs.

Meanwhile, with the administration of 58,11,487 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded145.16 crore.

The figure was 1,45,16,24,150 as per provisional reports till 7 am on Saturday, the health ministry said.

With 22,775 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours, India’s Active Caseload is now at 1,04,781. Active cases constitute 0.30% of the country's total Positive Cases.

The health ministry added that 8,949 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at3,42,75,312.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.32%.
