Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs, V. Muraleedharan will embark an official visit to the Republic of Uganda and to the Republic of Rwanda from November 11-15.

This will be his first visit to both the countries.

During his visit to Uganda from November 11-13, MoS will hold bilateral meetings with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uganda General Jeje Odongo and with Jacob Oulanyah, Speaker of Parliament of Uganda, said the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

The MoS will also call-on President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

The Minister will have interactions with the Ugandan Business Community and the Indian community in Uganda as well.

During his visit to Rwanda on November 14-15, Muraleedharan will Co-Chair the first India-Rwanda Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Vincent Biruta.


According to the MEA, MoS Muraleedharan will also call on President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame.

During the visit, MoS will inaugurate India-Rwanda Entreprenuership Development Centre, set up under GoI’s grant assistance and will pay a courtesy visit to Kigali Genocide Memorial. He will also interact with the Indian Community in Rwanda.

India enjoys friendly and cordial relations with both Uganda and Rwanda.

Bilateral relations with both the countries have been further buttressed by the vibrant Indian community.

Over the years, India has been at the forefront in providing assistance in capacity building, training and developmental projects.

The visit by the MoS will impart a fresh momentum in our bilateral ties with both these countries, the MEA added.
