India administers nearly 370 million Covid-19 vaccine doses
Meanwhile, India logged 43,393 new infections in the past 24 hours
India has administered about 370 million Covid vaccine doses till date.
As per the data released by the Union Health Ministry, 36,89,91,222 vaccine doses have been given across the states and UTs as per data till 7 am on Friday morning.
As many as 40 Lakh (40,23,173) vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
Of this, 27,01,200 beneficiaries were vaccinated for 1st dose and 13,21,973 beneficiaries received their 2nd dose of vaccine.
In the 18-44 age group, 20,31,634 vaccine doses were administered as first dose and 1,79,901 vaccine doses given as second dose.
Cumulatively, 10,84,53,590 persons in the age group 18-44 years across 37 States/UTs have received their first dose and a total 33,79,213 have received their second.
The country began the world’s largest vaccination drive on January 16 and with the combined efforts of center and state the drive has reached its third phase. Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the free vaccination for all adults campaign.
In a media briefing on Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi reiterated that the center is committed to increasing the domestic production of the vaccines as well as focusing on the import process.
Meanwhile, India logged 43,393 new infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total tally of cases to 30,752,950, while the active cases have declined to 458,727, according to the Union Health Ministry data.The Active cases constitute 1.49% of total cases.
On another front, 2,98,88,284 total recoveries across the country have been reported in the country. 44,459 patients recovered during the last 24 hours taking the Recovery Rate to 97.19%.
The Weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5%, and currently stands at 2.36%. The Daily positivity rate stands at 2.42%, remaining less than 3% for 18 consecutive days.
According to the Health ministry, the Testing capacity has substantially ramped up and 42.70 crore total tests have been conducted to date.
The death toll climbed to 405,939 with 911 fresh fatalities.
