The Prime Minister also congratulated Brazilian President Jair Bolsanaro on the launch of Brazil's satellite Amazonia-1 by PSLV-C51

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated New Space India Limited (NSIL) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on the success of the first dedicated commercial launch of the PSLV-C51/Amazonia-1 Mission today.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, "Congratulations to NSIL and @isro on the success of the 1st dedicated commercial launch of PSLV-C51/Amazonia-1 Mission. This ushers in a new era of Space reforms in the country. 18 co-passengers included four small satellites that showcase dynamism and innovation of our youth."

The Prime Minister also congratulated the President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro on the successful launch of Brazil's Amazonia-1 satellite by PSLV-C51.

The Prime Minister said, "Congratulations President @jairbolsonaro on the successful launch of Brazil's Amazonia-1 satellite by PSLV-C51. This is a historic moment in our space cooperation and my felicitations to the scientists of Brazil."

Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C51 (PSLV-C51) rocket loaded with 19 satellites from Brazil, USA and India lifted off successfully from the launch station at Sriharikota this morning.

While Brazil's 637 kilogram Amazonia 1 satellite was its primary passenger, the mission also included 18 co-passenger satellites.

This was ISRO's first launch during 2021.
