Social Welfare Department (SWD) has announced an extension for submission of online application from the students belonging to the minority communities

The government has extended the date for submission of online application from the students belonging to minority communities of Jammu and Kashmir for scholarship.

Thousands of students across the Kashmir valley are struggling to submit their online application for scholarship in the absence of internet facilities since August 5. However, facilitation centres have been set up in all districts to enable students to file their application, which proved inadequate.

An official spokesman said the Social Welfare Department (SWD) has announced an extension for submission of online application from the students belonging to the minority communities of Jammu and Kashmir, pursuing studies in government or recognised private educational Institutes.

The Last date for applying for Pre-Matric, Post-Matric and Merit-Cum-Means scholarship is January 17, 2020 and for first level (Institute) verification (L1)- Pre-Matric, Post-Matric and Merit-Cum-Means scholarship is February 3rd.

The last date for second level district, state and ministry verification (L2)- Pre-Matric, Post-Matric and Merit-Cum-Means scholarship is February 17.

The Online applications of Pre-Matric, Post-Matric and Merit-Cum-Means scholarship will be received through the common National Scholarship Portal, he said.
