Like other students of the country, the students of Jammu and Kashmir are also keen to pursue their educational rights. Despite a lot of efforts by the terrorists to divert the minds of the local youth from their schools and education, the students are serious towards their education.

Over 4,400 students from Jammu and Kashmir took admission in reputed institutions across the country under the Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) in the year 2019. This is a 74 percent increase as compared to the year 2018 in which the figure was 2,543.

Ever since the government announced on August 5 to remove Jammu and Kashmir’s special status under Article 370 of the Constitution and split the state into two Union Territories, the terrorists are trying to derail the educational system of the Valley by targeting the students and setting ablaze the schools.
